Proper vaccine storage and handling are important factors in preventing and eradicating many common vaccine preventable diseases. This program contents is designed to provide all Health Care Professionals (HCPs) with an update and overview of Vaccine Storage & Handling, including current standards of practice, special patient populations, a comprehensive review of current guidelines, as well as what should the HCPs do in case of both normal and emergent vaccine workflow/handling.
• Define Vaccines and Vaccine Cold-chain management.
• List the responsibilities of staff on Vaccine management.
• List the Storage types used in Vaccine storage.
• Define and list the monitoring procedures/materials used in VCCM.
• Gain the knowledge of proper Vaccine monitoring process according to DOH guidelines.
• Demonstrate an ability to do the “Shake Test”.
• Gain the knowledge of vaccine sensitivity against heat, freeze and light.
• List the importance of Vaccine Emergency Backup Plan, and the contents of the plan.
• Gain the knowledge of the importance of labeling in vaccine storage, and the commonly used types of labels.
• Summarize the COVID-19 vaccines available, technology used and how it’s handled.
