The CME course on IV Therapy offers healthcare professionals a comprehensive understanding and practical application of intravenous therapy principles.
Participants will define IV therapy and explore its varied types of access devices, distinguishing between primary and secondary administration sets while comprehending the differences in drip rates between macro and micro drip infusion sets. Vein anatomy and physiology will be elucidated to ensure proficient venipuncture and catheter insertion, alongside a comparison of Peripheral IV Therapy versus Central IV Therapy, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
Common problems and solutions, IV access locations, and flow rate calculations will be addressed, as well as the recognition and management of complications associated with IV therapy.
Participants will master the art of intravenous cannulation, including dosage calculations and legal ethics considerations, culminating in a holistic understanding and practical skill set essential for safe and effective IV therapy administration.
